About the Role:

The Privacy and Compliance Analyst will support various firm-wide projects and initiatives, requiring a strong understanding of data protection and privacy laws. The ideal candidate will possess excellent research, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and manage deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk assessments, including client risk assessments, data protection impact assessments, and transfer impact assessments.
  • Create and maintain procedural documentation for firm processes and initiatives.
  • Conduct investigations, inquiries, and remediation efforts.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop corrective action plans.
  • Participate in data protection controls strategy and administer privacy and security controls.
  • Support the firm's data protection initiatives and processes.
  • Assist in developing educational tools and training on data privacy and compliance.
  • Provide analysis and support for privacy and compliance initiatives.
  • Enhance program metrics and reporting, and identify trends or areas of risk.
  • Effectively communicate critical program goals and promote a privacy and risk-aware culture.
  • Serve as a privacy and compliance resource to teams and workgroups.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify and monitor risk.
  • Assist with data classification enhancements and initiatives.
  • Respond to privacy inquiries and requests.
  • Support data mapping and data inventory efforts.
  • Assist with administrative and operational privacy and compliance program functions.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4+ years of professional experience, including familiarity with privacy and compliance, data protection/cybersecurity.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with clients, internal attorneys, team leaders, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and iManage.
  • Industry standard certification, such as CCEP, CIPP, CIPT, CIPM, CISP, TPRM, or other similar certification.
  • Knowledge or understanding of IT Security principles a plus.
  • Law firm experience preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
