HGV Technician Job Description

Ford and Slater, a leading DAF Truck dealer group, is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their team at their Leeds dealership. As a family-run business with 16 locations across the UK, they offer a unique opportunity for career growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Servicing and maintaining a wide range of trucks and vehicles
  • Carrying out safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOTs
  • Diagnosing faults and ensuring repairs are carried out according to manufacturers' procedures
  • Participating in breakdowns and road testing vehicles when required

Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Technician/Mechanic in the HGV, Commercial Vehicle, LGV, PSV, Heavy Plant, Car, or associated sector
  • Recognised apprenticeship or training programme
  • Qualified to Level 3 (C&G, NVQ, or equivalent) in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Excellent technical knowledge and diagnostic skills
  • Full UK driving licence
