AtkinsRéalis is in search of a candidate who can exhibit a high level of technical proficiency within the building structures domain and who can provide CAD & REVIT support to our design teams.

Your prior experience should encompass involvement in multiple market sectors, including detailing of essential structural engineering materials such as steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.

Successful candidates will be expected to meet many of the following qualifications, with additional training and development opportunities available as needed.

What You Bring - Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience with Autodesk products, particularly Revit and Navisworks, is essential. Familiarity with Trimble Tekla (Tedds / Designer) and Autodesk Robot skills would be advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Comprehensive experience utilizing common data environments to facilitate project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of digital tools within the construction industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK and industry-wide BIM standards.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and an understanding of the broader engineering context of your drawings and models.
  • Proven experience in BIM delivery from initial concept through to construction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Solid general knowledge of construction methods and materials.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage time effectively during peak workloads.
  • Experience in employing automation processes to enhance efficiency is desirable (e.g., utilizing scripting platforms such as Dynamo).

Your Responsibilities - Duties and Additional Requirements:

  • Accountable for accurately producing 2D structural drawings and 3D models based on engineering sketches.
  • Responsible for delivering structural steelwork drawings, reinforced concrete drawings, RC detailing, and schedules. Experience with packages such as CADS RC would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Mentor apprentice technicians.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to identify and address practical challenges within designs and work with the team to resolve design and detailing issues.
  • Coordinate with the BIM Coordinator or National BIM Lead to highlight any identified issues with internal standards on projects.
  • Ensure project standards align with the project BEP.
  • Manage document control using AtkinsRéalis and client’s CDE.
