Position: Advanced Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support.

Summary:

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Advanced Teaching Assistant to become a vital part of our team within a Special Educational Needs environment. This role is essential in fostering the academic growth and development of students with unique learning requirements.

Core Duties:

The Advanced Teaching Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Leading targeted intervention sessions in core subjects such as English and Mathematics.
  • Providing coverage for scheduled absences of teaching staff.
  • Taking on additional responsibilities, which may include:
    • Conducting lessons independently.
    • Overseeing and mentoring fellow support staff.
    • Assisting in the preparation of lesson plans and classroom activities.
    • Offering tailored support to students with special educational needs.
    • Documenting and communicating student progress to educators.
    • Evaluating student work and delivering constructive feedback.
    • Encouraging and inspiring students to achieve their maximum potential.
    • Supervising students during extracurricular activities and outings.
    • Participating in collaborative meetings with staff.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication abilities, enabling effective interaction with both educators and students. A compassionate and sensitive approach, along with a solid grasp of educational frameworks and methodologies, is essential. Proficiency in computer usage and relevant software is required, as well as the capacity to perform well under pressure and adapt to evolving circumstances. A professional demeanor and a positive outlook are critical for success in this role.

All compensation rates mentioned will include statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for permanent placement in the future.
