The People Pod, a prominent player in the residential development sector, is seeking a Lead Cost Consultant to enhance their team. This organization is poised for significant growth, aiming to deliver an impressive volume of residential units annually.

The Lead Cost Consultant will be engaged in overseeing new residential construction projects with budgets reaching up to £40 million.

Key responsibilities will include procurement, which entails negotiating work packages with subcontractors and supply chain partners.

Key Qualifications:

  • A seasoned Lead Cost Consultant with experience in a top-tier development or contracting environment.
  • Proven track record in the residential sector, particularly in multi-phase developments and high-rise constructions.
  • Strong capability to manage and prioritize workload effectively.
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Proficient in standard measurement methods.
  • Possession of a valid driving license.

Core Responsibilities of the Lead Cost Consultant:

  • Evaluate incoming tenders, specifications, and contract documents to assess risks.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive, qualified tender submissions.
  • Participate in pre-tender site visits and conduct site surveys.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Conduct site visits and evaluate scoping documents.
  • Make informed decisions to optimize opportunities.
  • Engage in negotiations with clients to secure contracts.
  • Attend pre-contract meetings with clients as necessary.
  • Manage subcontractor packages and develop a work program.
  • Generate valuations, variations, and final accounts.
