Agricultural Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Agricultural Technician to join our team at Smallridge Bros Ltd. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work with a rewarding company and develop a long-term career in the agricultural industry.

Job Function:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment. This will include:

  1. Performing diagnostics and repairs on agricultural or turf equipment, including AMS products.
  2. Completing all reports and administration required for work assignments.
  3. Maintaining a clean workstation and assisting with overall workshop organisation.
  4. Following all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
  5. Participating in Service Training Certification programs to develop skills and knowledge.
  6. Performing diagnostics and repairs in the field when required.
  7. Performing pre-delivery setup on new or used equipment.
  8. Mentoring apprentices.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1+ year/s experience performing service repairs.
  • Ability to perform repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following approved technical procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to affect the repair of agricultural equipment.
  • Ability to use standard computer applications and internet functions.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
  • Good customer relationship skills.
  • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Forklift and vehicle driving license preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends.
