Job Summary:

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking an experienced Building Control Surveyor to join our client, a Local Authority based in the West Midlands, on an interim basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a surveyor to work on a variety of projects, including site inspections, plan checking, and enforcement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations
  • Review and approve plans, including discharge of conditions and amended plans
  • Investigate and enforce building regulations, including unauthorized works and property-specific complaints
  • Provide pre-application advice to clients
  • Respond to general enquiries from the public

Requirements:

  • Member of a relevant professional body, achieved via a Building Control route to membership
  • Part-qualified members with extensive Building Control work experience will be considered
  • Knowledge and experience of plan checking and site inspections of domestic, new houses/flats, and low-risk commercial buildings
  • Previous experience of dealing with dangerous structures
  • ICT literacy, including ability to check plans electronically and use ICT software such as Uniform and Inspection App
