Job Description:

Meridian Business Support is seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Technician to join our team in Hereford. As an Injection Moulding Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the moulding team with the development of new tooling and moulding programmes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Tooling and Moulding Programmes: Assist the moulding team in the development of new tooling and moulding programmes, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Tool Changes: Safely and efficiently perform tool changes, utilizing pre-set up programmes to minimize downtime.
  • Ancillary Machinery: Ensure that all ancillary machinery is set up correctly, including material handling, mixing, drying, and granulating.
  • Quality Control: Verify that first-off products meet relevant quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Utilize staff to assist with tool changes, material changes, and general department operations.
  • Process Improvement: Actively participate in process improvement activities to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Development Opportunities:
  • Department Operations: Start-up and shut-down the entire department, including moulding machines and ancillary equipment.
  • Process Understanding: Develop a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the process, tooling, and materials.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Accurately record and report shift production metrics.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and correct faults through machine settings and adjustments.
  • Equipment Setup: Set up and programme the roots and sprue pickers.
