About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Surveyor to join our Project & Programme Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering building safety consultancy services to our clients, ensuring compliance with building regulations and associated legislation.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on building regulations and associated legislation to clients and internal teams.
- Deliver the Building Regulations Principal Designer function for clients, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Work with designers to review building regulations compliance in design and develop practical solutions in line with legislation and best practice.
- Undertake building safety consultancy duties, including building regulation compliance audits and site inspections.
- Review building regulation submission packages and undertake gap analysis reviews to ensure compliance.
- Potential to deliver building regulation compliance training to internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislative and best practice changes, applying quality assurance principles to ensure compliance.
What We're Looking For
- Class 2/3 Registered Building Inspector (not essential but must demonstrate competence working on a range of building types and uses).
- Experience of PAS45001 and other integrated management systems.
- Strong background interpreting and applying building regulations and associated secondary legislation.
- Sound technical building regulations knowledge combined with an understanding of design and construction.
- Excellent stakeholder-facing skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to seek guidance from senior colleagues when needed.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software packages.
- Professional manner and outlook.
- Ability to work concurrently on a portfolio of projects and relevant professional chartership/accreditation with either CABE, CIOB, RICS.
- Experience in a similar building safety/building regulations compliance/design compliance role.
- Demonstrable understanding of construction and design.
- Full UK driving license.
