Position Overview

As a pivotal member of our finance team, you will report directly to the Finance Director. Your expertise will be essential in enhancing our compliance and governance frameworks as we expand into new markets. This role is designed for a proactive individual who is eager to contribute to the professional growth of AU Vodka.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee internal payroll processes for the UK
  • Manage non-UK payroll operations through external partners
  • Conduct daily reconciliations and manage multi-currency banking activities
  • Facilitate vendor payments and approvals
  • Develop and implement policies related to procurement, sales, inventory, and treasury management
  • Prepare and analyze monthly working capital reports
  • Generate quarterly reports for the Board regarding working capital
  • Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team for accurate management accounts
  • Lead the annual audit with a reputable firm
  • Provide necessary information for VAT returns in a timely manner
  • Submit monthly VAT returns for the UK
  • Reconcile excise duty accounts and manage payments
  • Work closely with operational teams to maintain accurate records
  • Create and oversee short-term cash flow forecasts

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in Excel and experienced in inventory management
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable
  • Knowledgeable in balance sheet and bank reconciliation processes
  • Familiar with audit procedures and UK VAT regulations
  • Quick learner with a systematic approach to work
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Organized and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively

Preferred Experience

Experience with accounting software such as Xero and inventory management systems like Cin7 WMS is advantageous. Familiarity with the alcohol industry, particularly in accounting for excise duties, is also desirable.
