We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide essential support and companionship to a young autistic woman. This role is crucial in ensuring her safety and enhancing her quality of life.

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to offer social assistance and a secure environment for a young woman with autism.

Location

Position based in Sutton, NR12.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a warm and approachable personal assistant who can engage with a lively 22-year-old who has a passion for crafts and drawing. Due to her autism, she requires supervision to ensure her safety and well-being. The role does not involve personal care.

  • Shared interests and a good sense of humor are essential.
  • Must be patient, calm, and adaptable.
  • Reliability is key.
  • Experience with autism is beneficial but not mandatory.

Terms and Conditions

  • Hourly pay rate: £11.68.
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7-8 am and 4-6 pm, with the possibility of additional hours.
  • Entitlement to 5.6 weeks of paid leave per year, pro-rata, including bank holidays.
  • Free training provided in Health and Safety, GDPR (confidentiality), and Autism Awareness.

Requirements

  • A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be funded by the employer.
  • Completion of a 6-month probationary period.

Services Provided

  • Engagement in social and leisure activities.
  • Support to maintain independence.

Training Offered

  • Safeguarding Adults/Children.
  • Autism/Aspergers training.
