Company Overview:
At TXM Recruit, we are currently seeking a skilled team of Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to join our operations.

Position Summary:
A new opportunity has arisen for multiple Electrical and Mechanical Technicians to work with one of the leading global manufacturers in the rail industry.

Candidate Profile:
We are in search of candidates with backgrounds in rolling stock, REME, or Aircraft (Avionics) who possess substantial experience in Mechanical or Electrical and Electronics fields.

Contract Details:
Duration: 6 months
Compensation: £19 per hour (Inside IR35) - candidates will need to operate through Umbrella or PAYE.
Overtime is compensated at a premium rate of £37.

Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Responsibilities:
- Disconnecting underframe components, including water tanks, exhaust systems, and couplers.
- Dismantling and reassembling the front end of trains, body panels, and support structures.
- Preparing for welding activities by carrying out electrical disconnections.
- Interpreting engineering drawings and adhering to procedures.
- Conducting scheduled maintenance on rolling stock in line with vehicle maintenance guidelines.
- Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes and procedures that enhance depot and fleet operations.
- Assisting in the delivery of new trains and participating in maintenance acceptance protocols.
- Demonstrating exceptional safety awareness in operational railway engineering settings.
- Utilizing modern fault-finding and repair techniques with PC-based laptops and remote diagnostics.
- Reading and understanding electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics and drawings.
- Leveraging extensive experience with modern maintenance management systems (MMS) and conducting reliability and availability trend analysis.

Electrical Responsibilities:
- Performing Wi-Fi upgrades, including the installation of antennas, aerials, data cables, and hubs.
- Documenting work through both physical paperwork and digital systems (SAP).
- Installing and reinstalling electrical components.
- Managing software data uploads and downloads.
- Executing electrical pinning and de-pinning tasks.
- Conducting detailed electrical wiring activities.
- Implementing modifications in accordance with modification instructions.
- Ensuring the safety of passenger and crew accommodations, including lighting and heating checks.
- Monitoring oil levels and performing oil changes.
- Checking water levels.
- Carrying out basic modifications to heating and ventilation systems.
- Implementing basic adjustments to seating and grab rails.
