Job Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods across various routes, managing unforeseen circumstances, and adhering to company and customer instructions. This role requires strong planning and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily equipment inspections to detect mechanical defects and document findings.
  • Operate in-cab computer systems to track routes and manage logistics.
  • Communicate with dispatch and other company officials to provide updates on estimated time of arrival and other pertinent information.
  • Manage stress and adapt to potentially challenging situations, such as traffic, customer delays, and weather conditions.
  • Interact with peers and management to promote a teamwork-focused environment and continuous improvement of terminal operations.
  • Perform physical tasks, such as cranking dolly legs, pulling fifth wheels pins, and ascending/descending tractor cabs and trailers.
  • Operate equipment up to 14 hours a day, including 11 hours of driving, and manage hours of service to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Perform tasks that require bending, stooping, or lifting repeatedly, as well as working at heights to check and seal dome lids on trailers.
  • Operate equipment associated with the transloading process for bulk flour and handle and connect hoses.
  • Couple and uncouple trailers, and climb carabiner systems while using company-issued fall protection.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's, as well as apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be 24 years of age and have two years of verifiable over-the-road or local tractor-trailer experience within the last seven years.
  • No more than one chargeable accident within the last three years, and no more than one moving violation ticket in the last three years.
  • No convictions of DUI, reckless driving, or open container, and no conviction for unlawful use, possession, or distribution of a controlled substance and no positive controlled substance/alcohol tests from prior employer.
  • No conviction of a felony.
  • CDL with proper endorsements for the operation and current FMCSA medical certification.
