Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to become a vital part of our team. Reporting to Senior Estimators, Project Managers, and Executives, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing commercial and contractual aspects from project initiation to finalization across a range of projects, including Roads, Structures, Flood Prevention, and Renewable Energy initiatives.
- Managing the procurement and oversight of subcontract packages.
- Facilitating the agreement of interim applications and final accounts for both Main Contracts and Subcontracts.
- Conducting measurement take-offs and managing variation/change control costing.
- Implementing value engineering strategies.
- Developing and submitting project schedules.
- Administering contracts effectively.
- Forecasting and reporting on costs.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Previous experience in a comparable position is preferred.
- The ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong autonomy and accountability in your work.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
- Excellent numerical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in IT applications.
- The ability to meet project deadlines.
- Security clearance or the capacity to obtain the necessary level of clearance.
- Knowledge of fundamental common law, contract law, and standard contract conditions.
- Experience in preparing contract documentation.
- Proficiency in managing change control processes.
- Experience in contract administration to ensure compliance.
- Expertise in cost forecasting and reporting.
