About the Role
Two Rivers Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated sanitation specialist to join our dynamic practice support team. This part-time position requires 15 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday from 6pm to 9pm, with the goal of ensuring a clean, hygienic, and safe environment within our medical facility.
Main Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect patient areas, including consultation rooms, examination rooms, and waiting areas.
- Dust and wipe down all surfaces, including desks, chairs, and medical equipment.
- Regularly sanitize high-touch areas such as door handles and light switches.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, ensuring they are sanitized and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Empty and dispose of waste bins, ensuring proper segregation and disposal of medical and general waste.
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors throughout the facility.
- Ensure floors are free from spills and hazards to prevent accidents.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, notifying the practice operations manager when reordering is necessary.
- Properly maintain and store cleaning equipment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Follow established cleaning protocols and procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
- Report any maintenance issues, such as broken fixtures or plumbing problems.
- Engage in ongoing training programs to stay updated on cleaning techniques and infection control practices.
- Maintain knowledge of the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

To be considered for this role, previous experience in commercial or office cleaning is essential, along with a strong sense of reliability and attention to detail.
