Job Title: Accountancy Assistant

Oldham Council is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountancy Assistant to join their Capital & Treasury Finance Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely allocation of cash, as well as providing excellent customer service to internal employees and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Allocate cash accurately and efficiently to support the business.
  • Assist with account enquiries and provide suppliers with copy remittances.
  • Upload bank statements and payment breakdowns, maintaining accurate reconciliations.
  • Clear suspense items and process supplier/resident BACS payments.
  • Support the Accountant and Senior Accountant in Treasury Management and other Capital Team tasks.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and a willingness to learn.
