Exciting Opportunity for a Tax Advisory Specialist
This is a unique chance for a seasoned Tax Professional to become part of the internal team at a prominent international organization in a highly influential role.
As a Tax Advisory Specialist, you will collaborate closely with the Senior UK Tax Manager to oversee the UK tax responsibilities of the organization and serve as a vital member of the Tax team.
In alignment with the commitments outlined in the firm's publicly available Tax Policy regarding the management of its tax responsibilities, this position is accountable for aiding in the execution of UK tax compliance tasks necessary to fulfill the firm's filing and payment duties, as well as providing guidance on UK direct and indirect tax issues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of Partnership tax computations, encompassing the global 'Trading Income' (profits approximately £400m+) of the primary LLP entities, along with the submission of partnership tax returns to HM Revenue & Customs.
- Preparation of UK tax computations for various UK and non-UK Partnerships and ensuring timely submission of tax returns.
- Preparation of corporate tax and other returns for the LLP's subsidiary corporate entities.
- Playing a key role in the year-end closing process, including assisting in the preparation of Deferred Tax calculations.
- Supporting tax accounting and the preparation of tax notes for disclosure in the firm's statutory accounts.
- Advising partners and finance teams on intricate VAT matters.
- Engaging in ad hoc projects, such as tax digitalization, employment tax considerations, and process enhancements.
- Assisting in the release cycles for partner tax reserves.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience in preparing UK tax computations.
- Ability to analyze complex technical tax issues and deliver clear, precise advice.
- Experience in submitting corporate and partnership tax returns online using tax software packages, including Alphatax and CCH Personal Tax or similar.
This role will involve collaboration with partners, external tax advisors, finance teams, and other support functions. A collaborative mindset and the ability to foster strong relationships with colleagues in London, Belfast, and other global teams are essential.
Additionally, the ability to articulate complex tax and accounting concepts both verbally and in writing to non-specialists is crucial. A solid understanding of tax issues impacting professional partnerships is required. An appropriate professional financial qualification, such as ACA/CTA or equivalent, is essential.
