About the Role
Tarmac is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Multi-Skilled Operative. As a key member of our operational team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional health, safety, environmental, and quality performance in our plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure customers receive high-quality materials and timely deliveries.
- Operate mobile plant equipment, including rigid and articulated dump trucks and loading shovels.
- Assist in meeting daily and weekly production targets.
- Ensure plant safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to health, safety, environmental, and quality initiatives.
- Perform regular inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of plant equipment.
- Maximize plant availability and maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar aggregates environment or industrial setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop both operational and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards, plant operations, and quarrying practices.
- Previous experience in mobile plant operations is preferred.
- Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team.
- Self-motivation and ability to motivate others.
- Knowledge of risk assessments and SSOW (HIRA) and Permit systems.
- Compliance with company policies, targets, and standards.
- Good timekeeping and communication skills.
- Full UK driving license and IT literacy.
