HIAB Driver (HGV 1 / HGV 2 Driver)

We are seeking a skilled HIAB driver to join our team at Smartsearch Recruitment Ltd. As a HIAB driver, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient loading and unloading of portable cabins and accommodation units to customer sites.

About the Role:
  • Responsible for the safe and effective loading and unloading of portable cabin and accommodation units to customer sites.
  • Hold a valid and clean HGV 1 Driver or HGV 2 Driver licence.
  • Qualified lorry loader operator (CSCS/ALLMI) is essential.
  • Experience of pulling trailers and using chains to lift.
  • Experience as a Hiab Driver or Tanker Driver would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate HIAB cranes to load and unload portable cabins and accommodation units.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle and equipment are safe for operation.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and safe loading and unloading operations.
Requirements:
  • Good understanding and knowledge of current regulations with regards to EU driver hours, Working Time Directive and Driver's Tachograph restrictions.
  • Demonstrate flexibility as some appointments may require you to be away from home during the week and driving other vehicles at other locations when required.
