Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Aseptic Dispensing Services team at Ninewells Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in preparing and supplying ready-to-administer patient-specific doses of injectable chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition to patients across NHS Tayside.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for participating in all areas of the product journey, from generating worksheets and labels to accurate and safe preparation of aseptic products within clean room facilities. You will also contribute to stock management, continuous improvements, and the implementation of developments to meet audit standards.

We are looking for an individual with excellent motivational and time management skills, who can work effectively under pressure. If you are a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician due to qualify and register with the GPhC in 2024 or a Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC, we encourage you to apply. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation and supply of ready-to-administer patient-specific doses of injectable chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.
  • Contribute to stock management, continuous improvements, and the implementation of developments to meet audit standards.
  • Work effectively under pressure and maintain accurate records.
  • Develop and maintain aseptic technique skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician registration with the GPhC (or due to qualify and register in 2024).
  • Excellent motivational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
