We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Clinical Scientist to join our Nuclear Medicine Physics team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting and developing our Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and PET services, as well as our expanding Radionuclide Therapy service.
Key Responsibilities- Support and develop our Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and PET services, including the development of imaging protocols and the evaluation of novel radiopharmaceuticals.
- Contribute to the growth of our Radionuclide Therapy service, including the provision of complex scientific advice and the development of dosimetry protocols.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and to develop new services and treatments.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on radiation protection and safety, including the application of IRMER2017 and IRR2017 in nuclear medicine.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures for SPECT, PET, radionuclide calibrators, intraoperative probes, and gamma counters.
- State Registered Clinical Scientist with a strong background in nuclear medicine and PET.
- Certified Medical Physics Expert (MPE) in Nuclear Medicine.
- Experience of working with ionising radiation and knowledge of radiation protection principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work flexibly and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
