Position Summary:

As a Vice President specializing in M&A within the UK Investment Banking sector, you will engage in various stages of M&A transactions across multiple industry sectors. You will gain significant exposure to a majority of the major M&A deals occurring in the UK, as we consistently rank among the leading M&A advisory firms in the region. In this role, you will be instrumental in facilitating both public and private M&A transactions for UK corporate clients, financial sponsors, and international clients with interests in the UK and Ireland.

Working alongside a team of seasoned professionals at a premier global investment bank, you will benefit from structured training, practical learning experiences, ongoing mentorship, and numerous professional development opportunities. You will cultivate essential skills in key areas of investment banking and be positioned to evolve into a senior role capable of originating and executing your own transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with J.P. Morgan product and sector teams.
  • Lead transactions as the primary point of contact, managing all critical workstreams and junior team members.
  • Oversee the creation and application of intricate financial models, conducting valuation and analytical assessments.
  • Prepare presentation materials, including management presentations, Board documents, memorandums, and other relevant materials for M&A and capital markets transactions or strategic client discussions.
  • Facilitate transactions: assist in public and private M&A activities across all workstreams, including due diligence, document preparation, negotiation, and liaising with relevant client counterparts and advisors (accounting, legal, etc.).
  • Stay informed about significant market trends and develop an understanding of the target client base and pertinent market dynamics.
  • Monitor shareholder activism in the UK and support clients in their development strategies.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
  • Excellent communication and junior management skills.
  • Exceptional financial analysis and modeling capabilities.
  • Familiarity with the UK Takeover Code and private transactions.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest and focus on deal execution.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
  • CFA Level III certification (or equivalent).
  • Comprehensive understanding of investment banking products (can be further developed through training).
  • Experience interacting with clients and other transactional advisors (can be enhanced through training).
This role involves regulated activities. The successful candidate will be subject to regulatory assessments regarding fitness, propriety, knowledge, and competence as determined by the Firm and, where applicable, approval by relevant regulatory authorities.
