Property Credit Controller

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Property Credit Controller to join our Property Accounting & Finance team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate processing of rent and service charges, while providing excellent customer service to tenants.
Key Responsibilities- Monitoring Accounts: Keep a close eye on accounts to spot any late or missing payments and ensure everything is up to date.
- Chasing Payments: Issue reminders to recover overdue payments and escalate where necessary.
- Reconciliation: Identify under/over payments, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accounts are accurate.
- Excel & Systems: Prepare rent schedules and reconcile accounts using Excel and our in-house property management system.
- Tenant Queries: Handle tenant queries about their rent and log everything on our system.
- Managing Arrears: Deal with arrears correspondence and ensure it's all followed up efficiently.
- Legal Notices: Serve legal notices when needed and manage the process through to completion.
- Payment Reconciliation: Identify unallocated payments and post daily rent charges.
- Debt Management Support: Assist tenants with debt issues and work closely with the finance team to keep everything on track.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience: Experience in a similar role as a Property Credit Controller or experience in chasing rent arrears.
- Attention to Detail: Pay close attention to detail and take a responsible approach.
- Workload Management: Confident managing your own workload and dealing with landlords and tenants.
- Telephone Manner: Excellent telephone manner.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Teamwork: Can work proactively both independently and as part of a team.
- Prioritization: Can prioritize tasks, working quickly and accurately to meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, build rapport, and handle complex issues calmly and professionally.
