Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs on a range of projects, minimizing costs while maximizing value for money and maintaining delivery standards.

  1. Preparing and agreeing monthly payment applications with clients.
  2. Developing and managing internal budgets in collaboration with the Procurement team.
  3. Preparing monthly cash-flow reports to ensure timely financial management.
  4. Identifying, valuing, and agreeing variations to ensure effective cost control.
  5. Collating and analyzing labor, material, plant, and subcontractor cost data for senior management reports.
  6. Reviewing proposed contracts, contractual arrangements, and contract documentation to ensure compliance.
  7. Preparing and issuing sub-contract orders from tender enquiries to order placement.
  8. Managing daily administration of subcontractor accounts to ensure timely cost management.
  9. Evaluating subcontractor applications and raising payment certificates.
  10. Providing support to the Pre-Construction team by reviewing tender documentation.
  11. Assessing commercial risk on projects and providing recommendations.
  12. Collaborating with the Project Team to address commercial issues and provide support.
Requirements
  1. Minimum HNC qualification or working towards a recognized qualification.
  2. Appropriate commercial and financial experience on construction projects.
  3. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical installations in large buildings.
  4. Experience with various contract types and contractual frameworks.
  5. Excellent literacy, numeric, and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  6. Ability to read and interpret engineering information.
  7. Strong awareness of commercial management processes and best practices.
  8. Working understanding of procurement, stock management, health and safety, and legislation.
  9. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
