Job Summary

The Community Tennis Coordinator will be responsible for delivering a range of services to support the growth and development of tennis programs at the Community Health Partnership of Illinois (CHP). This includes overseeing all tennis operations and programming, providing quality leadership and a positive, highly visible, and engaging style, and promoting all activities, events, assessments, and lesson opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality leadership and a positive, highly visible, and engaging style to promote a vibrant and active community at the tennis club.
  • Oversee all tennis operations and programming, with exemplary hospitality and connection with members and team members.
  • Be a strong consensus builder who recognizes the importance of having effective skills to resolve problems and inspire solutions for the best member and staff experience.
  • Communicate effectively with members and staff to promote all activities, events, assessments, and lesson opportunities.
  • Provide exemplary tennis programming with facility oversight, managing day-to-day operations, inspection and supervision of court maintenance and related equipment.
  • Manage assistant tennis professionals, ensuring they are approved and compensated by the organization.
  • Provide private and group tennis instruction at rates approved by the organization.
  • Support the development of junior programs, including competitive teams and summer tennis camps.
  • Encourage tennis participation by planning events to promote the sport and fellowship at the club.
  • Help produce and publish a calendar of events each year, in concert with the organization's executive team.
  • Enforce all the organization's rules and regulations governing the use of the tennis facilities, equipment, tennis dress code, and sportsmanship.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the organization's executive team.
  • Produce a written season-end report for review that summarizes program highlights and recommendations for the next season.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a passion for tennis and a strong ability to lead and motivate others. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment. A minimum TPA Club Professional 1 or Coach 1 certification is required.
