Job Summary

CPI, a leading innovation centre, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our growing engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the design and build of our new Novel Food Innovation Centre, a biotech piloting facility that will help develop the next generation of alternative foods and bring them to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise, capability, and input to the delivery of a broad range of projects, including the design and build of CPI's new Novel Food Innovation Centre.
  • Act as technical lead in medium to large-scale projects and projects of increasing complexity.
  • Guide and develop junior engineers in the team through sharing of knowledge and provision of technical support on smaller projects.
  • Draw upon a broad range of technical know-how to deliver high-quality process engineering outputs against agreed time and budget constraints.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Contribute to the delivery of engineering projects, conducting Front End Engineering Design studies at various levels, including engagement with other disciplines and external partners/vendors as required.
  • Build, maintain, and exploit a network of relevant external stakeholders, customers, partners, research organisations, and authorities to represent the technology team as a credible specialist in networks.
  • Generate engineering calculations, drawings, and reports to a high technical standard as required to complete projects against agreed time and budget constraints.

Requirements

  • Education to at least HNC or Foundation Degree level (or equivalent) in a Chemical/Biochemical Engineering discipline.
  • Extensive industrial experience at senior level in chemical/process engineering design, build, and commissioning.
  • Compelling evidence of complex technical problem-solving.
  • Experience in sterile design for biological processes, specifically fermentation, is advantageous.
