About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Estates team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the hospital's electrical systems are safe and functioning properly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and testing of hospital building services systems, including emergency lighting, fire alarms, nurse calls, and standby generators.
  • Attend to day-to-day reactive repairs and work on minor electrical installations as required.
  • Reactively repair and fault-find on plant and equipment, including motors, control circuits, and fixed electrical wiring systems.
  • Participate in the Estates out-of-hours Tradesman on-call rota, where you will be expected to work on/make safe mechanical equipment out of hours.
  • Participate fully in all relevant estates procedures and ensure completion of all necessary documentation in accordance with Estates Department policies.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years post-NVQ/Apprenticeship completion experience
  • Experience of working on/maintaining commercial and industrial electrical installations, as well as domestic
  • Experience carrying out Portable Appliance Testing
  • Experience of working/fault-finding on electrical systems in a hospital environment, including switchgear, motors, inverters, actuators, etc.
  • Experience supervising contractors
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience/Working Knowledge Of HTM 06-02
  • Experience in mechanical systems, including steam LTHW, MCW, Med Gas plant, steam boilers, and steam infrastructure
Essential Qualifications
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Electrical installation engineering or electrical maintenance-related subject
  • BS7671 18th edition Wiring Regulations certified
