Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people in our residential care settings.

About the Role

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing daily care and support to our young people, including:

  • Supporting daily routines, such as getting up, personal hygiene, meals, and activities
  • Developing life skills and promoting independence
  • Attending medical and other appointments
  • Supporting activity planners and working with young people on their targets
  • Completing daily paperwork and handover documents

You will also be a keyworker, building strong relationships with our young people and providing a listening ear and a warm and approachable presence.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Flexibility in your availability, including sleep-in nights and shift work
  • An understanding of the issues that face young people in care
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Residential Childcare Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team
  • Willingness to learn and develop your skills
