About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our dynamic team at AO. As a key member of our Enabling Team, you will play a crucial role in providing support and resources to our software development teams, ensuring they deliver high-quality solutions efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with software development teams and stakeholders to deliver high-value solutions.
  • Design and implement software solutions using C#,.NET Core, and AWS, as well as Terraform, TypeScript, and DynamoDB.
  • Focus on delivering clean, maintainable software and enabling teams to rationalize tooling and technology.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving across the technical landscape, refactoring legacy code bases, removing technical debt, and improving coding standards.
  • Lead technical change based on informed decision-making, rationalizing tooling and technology throughout the SDLC.
  • Analyze and integrate software components and third-party programs, recommending and executing improvements.
  • Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
  • Contribute to improvements across agile delivery and the SDLC community.
  • Participate in C4 design.

About You

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong background in software development, who is passionate about delivering high-quality solutions and collaborating with teams to achieve common goals.

  • Deep knowledge of C# and either ASP.NET or.NET Core.
  • Comfortable working with Terraform, TypeScript, and other technologies.
  • Good understanding of working with legacy code bases and refactoring code.
  • Passionate about applied coding standards, clean code, and working consistently with the development community to improve standards.
  • Care about purging technical debt to aid efficiency and security, with a desire to learn and apply learnings to measurably improve the SDLC cycle.
  • Proficient in agile delivery, value slicing, WJSF, and WIP, and passionate about agile deployment and low lead times to ship software.
  • Ability to build secure, scalable, distributable, maintainable, and high-performance software.
  • Good knowledge of software security, development frameworks, tools, and best practices.

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of principles and patterns and how they translate into modern software development.
  • Enjoy ownership and leading, providing solutions or critically thinking on and fixing problems.
  • Enjoy forging change, value collaboration, and whiteboarding out ideas, then applying technical design to code.
  • Passionate about efficiency, rationalization, and automation in software development throughout the tooling and approaches for code ideation, creation, development, provision, build, commit, deploy build, and run cycle.
  • Understanding of options around software/application architecture, API, and integration design.
  • Advocate for applying SOLID coding standards, clean code, and working consistently with the development community to improve standards.
  • Familiar with C4 modeling.
