Project Overview

Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute is seeking a PhD student to work on a project entitled "Multi-modal spatial data integration to predict breast cancer treatment response". The project aims to develop predictive models that can accurately predict treatment response in breast cancer patients using multi-modal spatial data.

Research Group

The research group is led by Dr. Raza Ali and consists of clinicians, pathologists, computational biologists, and cancer biologists. The group has a strong track record of publishing high-impact papers and has access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.

Project Details

The project involves collating a large collection of multi-modal spatial data from hundreds of breast cancer patients enrolled in neoadjuvant immunotherapy trials. The data will be used to develop predictive models that can identify cellular drivers of response and predict treatment outcome. The student will be responsible for collating the data, placing it in a shared coordinate space, and unpicking the critical correlations that underpin treatment effect.

Funding and Eligibility

The studentship is funded by Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute and includes full funding for University fees and a stipend of £21,000 per annum for four years. The student will be eligible to live and work in the UK.
