About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Biogen (UK) Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our anaerobic digestion (AD) plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the General Manager in maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Implement and maintain Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) systems to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address maintenance needs, and develop and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our AD process and equipment, and provide expert guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of environmental, safety, and quality management systems.
  • Work closely with our operations team to ensure seamless execution of maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to plant operations.
Requirements
  • Qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering, with a strong background in process industry maintenance.
  • Experience with PLC controls, electronics, and materials handling is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and possess first aid skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks effectively.
