About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients with complex needs.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years' postgraduate experience, including 2 years working as a Band 6 with patients with complex needs. You will have experience of working within an Acute Inpatient environment and be able to assess, manage, and treat patients with complex conditions.

Essential Criteria

  • Advanced Clinical Reasoning Skills
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Able to work autonomously within a MDT taking the lead Therapy role
  • In-depth understanding of the pathology of conditions leading to admissions in the elderly
  • Ability to advise & assist others in admission avoidance/early supported discharge at a specialist level

Desirable Criteria

  • Clinical Leadership Experience
  • Involvement in sickness/disciplinary/capability management
  • Excellent IT skills

Technical Skills / Competencies

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. You will also have a clear vision of the role and be able to discuss with stakeholders regarding policy & service provision and development.

  • Ability to drive and hold a clean driver's license and car available for work
