About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our Service & Workshop team at our Volvo Truck and Bus Centre in Teesside. As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring repairs are carried out according to Volvo's standards, working on a range of systems including alternative fuels such as LNG, hybrid, and full electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure repairs are carried out safely and responsibly, in accordance with Volvo Standard Times and using Volvo Special Tools where appropriate.
  • Assist in the fault diagnosis process and comply with warranty procedures during repairs.
  • Work with the Parts Team to ensure the correct replacement parts are fitted and assist with roadside breakdowns.
  • Ensure company time recording procedures are complied with and that job cards are completed accurately.
  • Support the development of young trainees and apprentices.

Requirements

  • City and Guilds, an NVQ3 or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Relevant experience in the commercial vehicle industry, including an apprenticeship in the HGV industry or equivalent experience.
  • A basic knowledge of computer software packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is preferred.
