Job Role Overview
The CCTV Operator will be responsible for monitoring and observing CCTV cameras to prevent and detect crime, identify and reduce anti-social behaviour, obtain best evidence for prosecutions, and provide commentary and clarification to Police Officers and Control Room staff in relation to ongoing incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV cameras to identify and respond to incidents
- Provide commentary and clarification to Police Officers and Control Room staff
- Pass appropriate information to the Area Control Room
- Maintain records relating to CCTV in accordance with current procedures/guidance and Data Protection legislation
Requirements
- Applicants must be a British citizen, a member of the EU or other states in the EEA, a Commonwealth citizen or a foreign national free of restrictions
- Applicants must have been resident in the UK for a minimum of three years immediately prior to application for this role
Working with Police Scotland
This role is part of Police Scotland's efforts to maintain public safety and prevent crime. The successful candidate will work closely with Police Officers and Control Room staff to provide critical support and information.
