Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a Healthcare Science Consultant to join a dynamic team of scientists, project managers, and policy advisors within NHS England. This role is integral to ensuring that the Office of the Chief Scientific Officer effectively supports NHS England's objectives by providing expertise and professional leadership to and from the scientific and diagnostic communities. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with colleagues across the system, offering influence and guidance to enhance quality and outcomes for patients while embedding innovation within healthcare practices. This position requires an individual with a strategic outlook and comprehensive policy insight to spearhead cross-government initiatives in healthcare science.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to influence senior decision-makers across the NHS through a scientific perspective. They should be adept at quickly establishing trust and credibility at all levels of the NHS system, working in partnership with high-level stakeholders to ensure a collaborative, inclusive, and cohesive approach to service delivery. Experience in people management is essential, with the capability to balance immediate requests alongside long-term strategic goals.

About NHS England
