Equipment Manager

AESC UK is seeking a highly skilled Equipment Engineer to join our Engineering team in Sunderland. As an Equipment Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting current production, as well as the development and operation of a world-class and innovative mass manufacturing Gigafactory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the engineering department in all facility aspects from initial project phase to mass production of the Gigafactory.
- Support the development of a manufacturing zone, working within a multi-disciplined team.
- Ensure all equipment is safe and legally compliant from design to integration and implementation, attending design reviews and working with equipment suppliers.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure facility OEE is achieved and improved while life cycles are managed and maximized.
- Provide technical support for maintenance to ensure equipment is kept in first-class condition.
- Procure production facilities and processes, and manage contractors and equipment suppliers.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required to support project needs.
Requirements:
- Technical degree or certificate in an electrical discipline.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Computer literacy, including MS Project and Excel.
- Ability to demonstrate a positive and logical attitude, with good negotiation skills.
- Planning, schedule control, and project management skills.
- Capacity to quickly learn and absorb new technologies.
Desirable Skills:
- Electrically biased engineer with some mechanical knowledge or skills.
- Knowledge of the latest machinery standards.
- Some PLC and systems knowledge (Siemens/Mitsubishi, etc.).
- Experience in complex technical manufacturing processes and/or special-purpose assembly machines.
- Previous experience in high-volume manufacture, clean/dry room experience.
- Knowledge of current legislation of machinery standards.
- Experience working within APQP, IAFT framework.
