Role Summary
The Laboratory Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily functions and strategic growth of the laboratory. This includes leading laboratory meetings and representing the laboratory in interdisciplinary discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze laboratory Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance operational efficiency and outcomes.
- Act as the Delegate Responsible Person in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Team to ensure quality control measures are upheld and assist during laboratory inspections.
- Exhibit proficiency in all areas of andrology and embryology, including advanced techniques such as embryo biopsy.
- Provide mentorship and training for new laboratory personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Encourage participation in Journal clubs and other extracurricular initiatives to promote staff engagement.
- Embrace a dynamic work environment, welcoming innovative ideas and constructive feedback.
- Propose procedural enhancements and innovative solutions to senior management.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to cultivate positive relationships with all team members.
- Coordinate with other department leaders to implement improvements that benefit the organization.
- Review and revise all laboratory policies to ensure they are current and effective.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and audits pertinent to laboratory operations.
- Validate new laboratory equipment, policies, and processes through the established Quality Management System.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree is required.
- Preferred: Master’s or PhD degree.
- Preferred: ESHRE certification.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience as an embryologist with a comprehensive understanding of IVF laboratory operations.
- Proficiency in all aspects of IVF, including embryo biopsy techniques.
- Experience with quality management systems in a laboratory setting.
- Background in mentoring and training new staff members.
- Experience in Human Resource, Project, and Change Management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of leadership.
