Chef - Hospitality Specialist

As a Second Chef at Runwood Homes, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food preparation and presentation to our residents. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring all stages of food preparation meet the highest standards for resident well-being.
- Preparing and serving meals in accordance with the menu and company requirements.
- Maintaining compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ensuring the quality of meals in terms of presentation and taste.
- Managing portion control to minimize waste.
- Meeting individual dietary requirements by following quantity charts and recipes or adapting dishes as needed.
- Maintaining a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment.
- Storing food and other items correctly.
- Monitoring stock and maintaining effective stock rotation.
- Deputizing for the Head Chef as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant experience in a catering environment.
- NVQ 2 or City & Guilds equivalent.
- Food Hygiene level 2.
- Team player with a genuine interest in working within a caring environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Satisfactory police check and check against the ISA list (where applicable).
- Basic understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
