Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Court of Protection lawyer to join our team as a Senior Associate. As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex Court of Protection cases, driving the strategic direction of the practice, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of Court of Protection cases, including property and financial affairs, welfare, and contested applications.
- Advise clients on all Court of Protection law aspects, including deputyships, LPAs, statutory wills, and related mental capacity issues.
- Oversee and mentor a team of solicitors and paralegals, fostering their professional development and ensuring high-quality client service.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing clear, empathetic, and strategic advice.
- Play a key role in business development initiatives, expanding the firm's client base, and enhancing their market presence.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide holistic legal services to clients.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in Court of Protection work, with a strong track record of handling complex and sensitive matters.
- A proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, court personnel, and other professionals.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing junior lawyers.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to business development initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice.
- A deep commitment to the rights and needs of vulnerable individuals.
Qualifications:
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 8-10 years of PQE in Court of Protection matters.
- Proven track record in managing and developing a successful practice.
- Experience at a senior level, with a focus on Court of Protection law.
