Position Overview

We are seeking an Advanced Interventional Radiography Specialist who aligns with our mission to deliver exceptional care and outstanding service to our patients.

Ideal candidates will possess flexibility, strong communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork. Experience within the NHS is essential, and familiarity with interventional radiography is preferred, though training opportunities are available.

This role may require travel to various locations, and participation in on-call duties to provide urgent vascular imaging services will be expected.

Core Responsibilities

Our diagnostic radiology services encompass a range of facilities, including advanced imaging techniques such as plain film, interventional procedures, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI, NM SPECT, DXA, and breast imaging.

We are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including two 3T Siemens Skyra scanners and a recently updated MRI Avanto, alongside five CT scanners from leading manufacturers.

Our expanding interventional service features a dedicated interventional room with advanced imaging equipment and a recovery area, as well as additional fluoroscopy capabilities.

We are committed to establishing a 24/7 vascular hub for the region, with plans for a cutting-edge hybrid theatre currently in development.

Our interventional procedures include a variety of vascular, urology/renal, and gastrointestinal cases, utilizing advanced technology for optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • HCPC registration

Previous Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience with a broad range of imaging equipment
  • Experience in supervising junior staff
  • Demonstrated decision-making and accountability

Desirable:

  • Experience in Interventional Radiography
  • Involvement in audit and clinical governance initiatives

Skills:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Organizational skills at the departmental level
  • Effective communication with patients and colleagues

Desirable:

  • Core management skills
  • Training in student mentorship
  • Appraisal training

Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Strong general radiographic skills with an interest in interventional radiology
  • Proficiency in computer applications

  • IV cannulation training
  • Attendance at relevant study days
