Nursery Practitioner

£10 per hour (plus Bank Holiday and Qualification enhancements available)
Contracted Hours: 30 hours per week – Fixed Term Contract
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, all year round, hours between 6am to 8pm
If these shift / hours do not suit you, we can also offer hours on a casual basis that give you flexibility and work life balance.
Our Nursery Practitioners or Early Years Practitioners look after the educational and social development of babies and young children up to the age of five. Their primary duties include providing children with a safe environment to learn, helping them to develop basic social and behavioural skills, and engaging them in age-appropriate play activities. You'll work alongside other team members who are passionate about providing care, warmth, and kindness to all those who work in our Nurseries.
Tops Parkstone Nursery is a 56 place Day Nursery & Pre-School situated in Parkstone, Poole. The nursery runs several extra-curricular activities including Tops Forest School, cooking school, Boogie Mites, yoga, tooth brushing, football fun, and much more. At Tops Day Nurseries, we see working in the childcare industry as a very rewarding career choice. We have achieved SchemaPlay accreditation to help narrow the gap for any children showing signs of delay and to enhance the learning experiences for all children that attend our settings.

Requirements:
- A minimum of a Level 2 in Early Years care and Education is essential, a Level 3 is desirable but with our in-house training team, this is something we can help you work towards.
- Commitment to working with our children; working in the Early Years sector can be as intensive as it is rewarding, so you must have a passion for child development and dedication to caring.
- Creative skills and imagination to provide educational activities to children that can ensure the child is happy and learning in a rewarding environment.
- Building relationships; our children thrive in our settings when they have strong bonds and healthy relationships with Nursery Practitioners.
- Personal skills – to be personable and approachable with children's parents, as our parent relationships are vital to helping you understand how to keep children happy and supported, both in nursery and home life.
All candidates will be required to have an enhanced DBS which is on the update service. This role involves regulated activity with children. You should not apply if you are on the Children's Barred List.
