About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Microbiologist to join our team at NHS Lothian University Hospitals Division. As a key member of our infection service, you will play a vital role in delivering expert care to patients across Lothian.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist microbiological advice and support to clinical teams
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of infection prevention and control strategies
  • Participate in the management of antimicrobial stewardship initiatives
  • Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to advance knowledge and practice in microbiology and infectious diseases
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a CCT in Microbiology or Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, or be within 6 months of achieving this. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.
