About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speciality Doctor to join our Community CAMHS Learning Disability team in Canterbury. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide senior medical support and direct input on clinical cases, working closely with children and young people, their families, and other external CAMHS mental health providers.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in the management of mental disorders in children, including neurodevelopmental disorders, and will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of current developments in mental health care. You will be a team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior medical support to the CAMHS team, including direct input on clinical cases
  • Work closely with children and young people, their families, and other external CAMHS mental health providers
  • Develop links with local acute trusts A&E departments and inpatient wards
  • Offer clinical supervision and teaching to core trainees on placement
  • Supervise junior colleagues and liaise with other health and social professionals and agencies
Requirements
  • Registration with the GMC with a licence to practice
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
  • At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) of which at least 2 years will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee or shall have equivalent experience and competencies
