Position Title: Versatile Maintenance Engineer

Location: Telford

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 7-7 (days & nights)

Salary: £51,806 per annum plus paid overtime at 1.5x

Signing Bonus: £5,000 for successful candidates (subject to terms and conditions)

The company also produces chilled desserts under license from Mondelez International and serves the UK private label yogurt market from a state-of-the-art yogurt facility.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Versatile Maintenance Engineer (internally referred to as Engineering Shift Technician) to join our Telford Dairy. The successful candidate will be tasked with both reactive maintenance and planned maintenance activities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance all plant, processes, and assets to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance and improvements on plant and assets
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety standards
  • Complete planned preventive maintenance tasks and improve maintenance practices
  • Diagnose and repair equipment faults promptly to ensure smooth operations
  • Promote health and safety practices
  • Diagnose faults and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Identify and report machinery defects or signs of impending failure
  • Engage with OEMs and suppliers for technical support and expedite parts as necessary

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a versatile engineer in a fast-paced manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Background in mechanical and electrical engineering within manufacturing, production, and process settings
  • Apprentice-trained with experience in fast-moving machinery, pumps, valves, and PLCs
  • Relevant experience in a similar FMCG role is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities
  • Good understanding of preventative maintenance techniques
  • Effective communication skills
  • Team-oriented with a strong ability to collaborate across functions
