We are seeking a skilled Technical Buyer to join our client's team in Stockport. As a key member of the Commercial Department, you will be responsible for sourcing raw materials and components, interpreting complex bills of material, and making informed purchasing decisions.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in sourcing raw materials and components, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Interrogate complex bills of material, making informed judgments on purchases and extracting relevant information.
- Work closely with the sales team to negotiate competitive pricing and ensure a continuous supply of efficient services and materials.
- Meet cost strategy targets set by the Commercial Manager, ensuring the lowest costs without impacting quality.
- Identify and achieve the lowest costs without impacting quality and maintain the cost of materials on the appropriate database.
- Background in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Solid experience of purchasing raw materials, engineered products, and services.
- Ability to interpret technical specs and read engineering drawings is essential.
- 39 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
- 25 days holiday per annum, plus 9 set holidays (Pro rata in first year January to December).
