Job Summary

Bell is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Wessex. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing surveyors, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed profit and WIP targets
  • Manage and train a team of surveyors, including trainees and branch employees
  • Lead a team of surveyors to achieve commercial objectives
  • Monitor and report on cost information, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for new business
  • Exercise commercial judgment to prevent and protect against financial loss
  • Oversee the production of estimates and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Monitor and accrue sales rebates, and approve subcontractor payments
  • Complete final accounts within contractual timescales, and ensure financial reporting accurately reflects project status
Requirements
  • MCIOB qualification
  • CMI L5 Certificate in Management and Leadership
  • HND/HNC in Building Studies
  • Pitman Excel - Advanced User
  • CSCS card - Manager/Professionally Qualified Person
  • Knowledge and experience in working for a large subcontractor, preferably with a painting background
  • Full UK driving license
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Good negotiating talent
  • A drive for career progression
