Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team at Reed Accountancy & Finance. As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our clients by providing exceptional accounting support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate payment to employees.
  • Oversee the sales ledger to maintain and update customer accounts.
  • Handle the purchase ledger, including processing invoices and payments.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Prepare CIS returns in compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure VAT and HMRC compliance across all financial transactions.
  • Manage petty cash and perform general accounts administration tasks.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Proficiency with Sage accounting software.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Capable of managing your own workload while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate with team members and external partners.
  • Problem-solving skills to address and resolve accounting issues as they arise.
  • Experience within the construction/property industry is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is advantageous.
