Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced English educator to join our team as a Cover Supervisor with a focus on English in North Yorkshire. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading English resit classes in the absence of the regular teacher, providing instruction and support to students preparing for exams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead English resit classes, providing instruction and support to students preparing for exams.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that address the specific needs of students and align with the curriculum objectives.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and productive learning environment conducive to student success.
  • Provide feedback and support to students to help them improve their English skills and confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity of instruction and support for students across different classes and subjects.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement, and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher with experience teaching English at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and experience preparing students for exams and resits.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a variety of classroom settings and with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
