Liver Transplantation Specialist Pharmacist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Pharmacist to join the Liver Pharmacy Team at King's College Hospital as 9-12 month maternity leave cover.
The Liver Unit at King's College Hospital is a world-renowned tertiary referral centre for liver transplantation, complex hepatology, viral hepatitis, hepatobiliary surgery, and liver intensive care.
Main Responsibilities- Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist, Hepatology
- Act as a specialist role model and an expert in the medical management within the hepatology care group
- Lead and manage clinical pharmacy services in the hepatology Care Group in conjunction with the Principal Pharmacist
- Develop and participate in outpatient clinics to deliver and promote high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused pharmaceutical care
- Act as a pharmacist independent prescriber to optimise the care of patients within the hepatology Care Group
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds, delivering and promoting high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused pharmaceutical care
- Promote safe drug use within the Hepatology Care Group specialties
- Work with the Associate Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Services to develop, manage, and support non-medical prescribing within pharmacy and the Trust
- Provide specialist pharmacist input into the Trust Non-Medical Prescribing Group (NMPG) including the management of Patient Group Directions and Written Instructions
- Development, implementation, and audit of local guidelines
- Supervise and train pharmacy staff at ward level
- Provide education and training of healthcare professionals within and outside the Trust
- Financial reporting, drug usage, and expenditure forecasting, drug budget management, and work on CIPs (cost improvement programmes)
- Participate in practice and clinical research and audit
