The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in financial crime investigations, particularly within the banking sector. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a strong presence in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive investigations into financial crime incidents, including fraud, anti-money laundering (AML), anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), and counter-terrorism financing (CTF).
- Develop and uphold financial crime policies in accordance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Act as a representative for the organization in dealings with external agencies and during third-party inquiries related to financial crime.
- Examine internal reports and referrals to ascertain if there is a need for disclosure to relevant authorities.
- Prepare detailed annual reports on compliance with Money Laundering Regulations for senior management review.
- Manage FCA Financial Services returns and oversee post-transaction monitoring activities.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders within the organization on financial crime and security matters.
- Facilitate internal training sessions on financial crime topics to enhance team knowledge.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven investigatory experience in law enforcement, regulatory, or corporate investigation roles.
- Experience within a financial institution, with a focus on financial crime and fraud prevention.
- Strong understanding of the UK regulatory framework concerning financial crime.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Desirable: Relevant university degree or equivalent, financial crime-related certification, and familiarity with AML/transaction monitoring software.
